studied electrical engineering and telecommunications at the Technical University of Munich and at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in the U.S.
Prior to joining BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT in 2011, Felix Hermann spent nine years working for a renowned IP law firm in Munich. From this time he has extensive experience in handling ex parte and inter parte proceedings and hearings before the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), the European Patent Office (EPO) and the German Federal Patent Court (BPatG).
His professional career as a patent attorney focusing in particular on the technical intellectual property rights, i.e. patents and utility models, both with respect to drafting and prosecuting applications, representing the clients in opposition and nullity proceedings and enforcement of property rights. He also advises companies in setting up and maintenance of patent portfolios as well as the elaboration and implementation of national and global patent strategies. His technical expertise covers communication technology (especially wireless networks), audio and video encoding, software, public key infrastructures and digital payment systems. Further, his consulting focus lies on drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to standardization in the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), i.e. UMTS, LTE, LTE Advanced.
